CBL for school systems
School systems in the 21st century have been forced to be responsive to the needs and social ills prevalent in the communities they serve. Therefore, if you are to be successful at building a school system with high academic standards for all students, while supporting the needs of local industry; it is imperative that we focus on changing the ideology within the schools and surrounding community. Issues surrounding violence, teen pregnancy, drugs, truancy, parental involvement, and apathy have to be attacked initially so that educators and students might have the necessary resources by which to be successful.
A prime opportunity exists for school systems to develop programs that leverage opportunities within high growth/high demand business and industries such as petrochemical, banking/finance, healthcare, bio medical, film and digital media, construction and oil and gas. By creating a pipeline of potential employees that have adequate education and skills, we will grow a workforce that can sustain business and industry growth and development for years to come.
Our Positive Youth Development Model will:
• raise academic standards and expectations• create positive perceptions about working in local business and industry
• provide social, academic, and financial supports to increase high school graduation rates and post-secondary enrollments
